The main aim of "Panorama of the USA" is to give a general picture of America at the present period in the second half of the 20th and the beginning of the 21 century.It has been designed for advanced students of English in order to help them meet the usual requirements for the examination in the subject of “Things American”. Its main objective is to convey basic information about various aspects of life in the USA, its geography, and some of the country’s institutions, including the political system, the law, the mass media, the education, etc.
“Panorama of the USA” consists of 10 chapters. Each chapter contains material that may be used for either home or classwork. The book has additional aims, viz., to enlarge the student’s general vocabulary. Most of the exercises provide work on the specific vocabulary of Things American.
Finally, there’s a spacious Reference Section that could be of use for both teachers and students.
