The first part in the final instalment of the Harry Potter saga is an exciting and well-made film. The previous instalment in the Harry Potter saga clearly marked the end of the fun and games and youthful optimism of Harry and his friends. The fictional universe became gloomier, the evil forces more ruthless and we experienced the death of the mighty Professor Dumbledore. (1) .
In the world of magic, evil prevails. Lord Voldemort is more powerful than ever, and he has gathered an army of Death Eaters who have only one goal: Find Harry Potter, and bring him to the Lord of Darkness. Harry, on his A , is supported by a small, yet strong team of good wizards, and, of course, Ron and Hermione are at his B .
(2) . The comparison between the Death Eaters and the Nazi’s horrible racial C during the Second World War is apparent.
(3) . Even though everything seems hopeless, we know Harry will never surrender. The filmmakers have made a smart D dividing the last book into two films. This allows the story to progress in a natural, life-like way. (4) . The previous films are filled with action, but, in this film, there are several sequences where the progress of the story is quite slow. With a running length of 2 hours and 26 minutes, and, in addition, having to wait until next summer for the climax of the story, it all becomes too E in action.
As in the previous instalment, you are completely dependent on being familiar with the Harry Potter universe in order to fully appreciate the story. We are not given a summary of the story so far. (5) . As well as this, it has to be said that the novel provides a far more comprehensive and rewarding experience, and we recommend that you read the book before you watch the film.
